AI and plagiarism

Prism is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, originality, and responsible scholarly communication. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must represent original scholarly work and must appropriately acknowledge the ideas, words, data, findings, and contributions of other researchers. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, substantial text recycling, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct are not acceptable. Manuscripts may be subjected to appropriate similarity or plagiarism screening during the editorial and review process. Where substantial similarity, plagiarism, or other concerns regarding originality are identified, the editorial team may request clarification from the authors, require appropriate corrections, or take further action in accordance with the seriousness of the concern.

Authors may use artificial intelligence (AI) or AI-assisted tools for limited and responsible purposes such as language improvement, grammar correction, translation, formatting assistance, or support during manuscript preparation. However, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scholarly content of their submissions. AI tools must not be treated as authors, and authors should not rely on AI-generated content without appropriate human verification. Authors are responsible for checking all AI-assisted text, factual claims, interpretations, data, citations, references, and other material for accuracy and authenticity. AI tools should not be used to fabricate or manipulate data, generate false references, misrepresent sources, or produce content that constitutes plagiarism or academic misconduct. Where the use of AI has materially contributed to the preparation or development of a manuscript, authors should disclose such use appropriately in accordance with the journal's editorial requirements. The editorial team reserves the right to seek clarification regarding the use of AI or other automated tools where concerns arise about originality, accuracy, authorship, or research integrity.
